Welcome to the Office of Consumer Protection Online Services website. This is the place where you can submit a complaint against a business, search our complaint records and report scams or rip-offs.

File a complaint: Click on this image to file an official complaint with the Montana Department of Justice’s Office of Consumer Protection. Once you submit a complaint, our investigators will begin processing your submission and may contact you. A business is any organization from which you have purchased goods or services.
Find a business: Our office maintains records of past complaints citizens like you have filed against businesses. Click on this image to search our complaint database.
Report a scam: Our office also tracks scams and rip-offs and issues periodic warnings to Montanans. We hear about such scams from people like you. Scams usually involve entities that are not legitimate businesses, like fake lotteries, fraudulent work-at-home schemes or callers claiming to be a member of your family who needs help. We want to hear about such scams even if you didn’t fall for them.
